Job Description

We are looking for a reliable and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our busy GP Practice team. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will be responsible for providing support to the clinical team and delivering a range of clinical and administrative duties. You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to our patients and ensuring the smooth running of the practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake health checks including blood pressure, height, weight, and BMI measurements.
  • Support the clinical team with clinical procedures such as wound care, ECGs, and ear syringing.
  • Provide phlebotomy services and collect and process blood samples.
  • Perform administrative duties such as booking appointments, processing repeat prescriptions, and updating patient records.
  • Deliver health promotion activities to patients and provide advice on healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Work in partnership with the clinical team to ensure that the practice meets the needs of its patients.

Professional Skills

  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential.
  • A caring and compassionate nature.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to undergo training and develop new skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Flexibility to work shifts including weekends and evenings.
